MIM members Electro Discharge, a Laser cutting, profiling and Wire and Spark erosion service, will have experts on hand at the Expo this year to advise guests on anything they need to know about the company's services.

Exhibitions usually involve a number of salespeople on hand to advise guests on their products and services. However, West Midlands based manufacturer Electro Discharge are taking a different approach by welcoming former shop floor engineers to the stand, to give guests advice on the technical side of their business. Rupin Vadera, General Manager at Electro discharge said:

“We will have staff who know the business in and out on our stand this year at the MIM Expo. They will not be salespeople they will be hands-on people, who have moved up the business from being shop floor staff to senior members of the business. By doing this, we hope to give guests all of the answers they need.”

The company will also have sample products on the stand to showcase their capability and highlight the number of industries they can cater to. This includes complex parts made for the aerospace, automotive and commercial industry.

Electro Discharge is just one example of the number of manufacturers investing into their business for continuous development and staying ahead of the game. Investing in the latest technology, the company now has a 5 Axis Laser cutting and profiling machine, with over 29 Wire erosion, 11 Spark erosion and two Fast Hole Drilling machines, increasing the capacity and capabilities the company has. All of these machines are accredited to ISO, AS9100 and Nadcap specifications, proving the company is a trusted and global accredited manufacturer.

Recently, they have invested in a Trumpf 7040 fibre laser system. This allows the company to produce two- and three-dimensional components and tubes. The modular set of the machine enables them to optimally customise the TruLaser Cell Series 7040 to a modified production environment and to react to changing customer requirements with flexibility. Rupin said:

“Guests should visit our stand because we have one of the biggest Wire erosion machines in the country that can cut metal up to 700mm thick. If you are looking for this type of service, you will not regret visiting our stand on the day.”

“On top of that, with 40 EDM machines and two shifts that run day and night, we have the capacity for a fast and efficient turnaround.”

Electro Discharge Ltd was founded in 1980 to provide a specialist sub-contract Wire and Spark Erosion service to the engineering industry. The company is well placed to meet any demand from present and new customers, ensuring complete satisfaction.
